Future Towns Mobility Demonstrator Pilot

The Enterprise M3 LEP’s Future Towns Mobility Demonstrator pilot is a direct response to the impact of Covid-19 on the businesses and people working within Basingstoke’s Golden Triangle (The Hospital, Chineham Business Park, the Town Centre (including Basing View).

The project looks to support a green recovery through tactical cycling infrastructure upgrades, reducing the barriers to micro-mobility use (e-bikes and e-cargo bikes) and exploring the potential for digital platform / services that would support Basingstoke Town Centre recovery.

  • Would your business operations or employees benefit from access to e-bikes or e-cargo bikes ?
  • Would an e-cargo bike extend the reach of your existing product or services being offered locally ?
  • Would you like to use e-cargo bikes to cheaply deliver/transport your products in the local area?

The project is looking for local businesses in Basingstoke who would like to participate in the trial, with the trial launching in July/August 2021. The trial will provide free access over the trial period to the services with the intention of learning how they have been used and the outcomes they have delivered.

If you are interested in participating, please reach out to Toby.Bennett@wsp.com. The EM3LEP Future Towns Mobility Demonstrator consortium consists of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, University of Southampton, WSP, and the Centre for Towns.
