The award-winning Anvil Arts is the largest performing arts organisation in Hampshire. The Haymarket Theatre, art galleries and the annual Basingstoke Festival mean there is something to suit all tastes throughout the year.
This annual flagship event takes place in June and July and is a series of events by individual organisers which is coordinated by the council. Since the festival began it has continued to grow and now has more than 100 events in over 40 venues, reaching an audience of over 160,000 people. Typically, the festival includes theatre, orchestras, choirs, dance, multicultural parades, rock festivals, film exhibitions, book readings, art installations and more.
